Macbrook backs Cambridge United foundation in major community-focused partnership
Macbrook Gas and Heating has kicked off a new partnership with Cambridge United in a new agreement that will channel fresh support into grassroots community projects across the city through the Cambridge United Foundation.
The collaboration will see the heating and energy services provider back a range of local initiatives aimed at improving access to sport, supporting families in need, and helping residents facing fuel poverty.
The move builds on Macbrook’s ongoing work with Cambridge City Council, and other Cambridgeshire and Peterborough authorities, with the company supporting programmes designed to assist vulnerable households with essential heating and energy support.
With an office in Cambridge, Macbrook provides gas and heating services to homes and businesses, and has become known locally for its involvement in youth sport sponsorships and community assistance schemes. Its work with the city council includes contributing to initiatives aimed at ensuring vulnerable residents can access safe heating and advice on managing energy use.
Through its partnership with Cambridge FC, Macbrook will contribute to the club’s Cambridge United Foundation, which delivers programmes in schools, community hubs and neighbourhoods across the wider region.
Jonathan McKenna, CEO of Macbrook Gas and Heating, said: “We’ve always believed that a business has a responsibility to give back to the people who live in the areas we work in. Supporting Cambridge FC allows us to reach even more families, especially through the Foundation’s grassroots and wellbeing projects.
“Our team sees first-hand how much difference reliable heating and energy support can make to people who are struggling, and partnering with the club means we can help in new ways beyond our day?to?day work.”
Neil Rowe, Head of Commercial at Cambridge United, said: “Macbrook is already well established in the community, and what stood out to us was the hands?on way they support people who really need it. The Foundation’s programmes rely on partners who want to make a genuine impact. Macbrook’s commitment means we can extend more grassroots activities, from school sports sessions to community outreach.”
