Macbrook Group to launch co-workspace at close-to-complete £1.3M Norwich HQ

Macbrook Group, which primarily operates under Macbrook Gas, is preparing to open a new flexible workspace for local businesses, within its nearly completed £1.3 million headquarters near Norwich.

Macbrook House will provide a permanent home for divisions of the group, which primarily operates as Macbrook Gas, but also include renewables and construction. The group’s senior leadership team and central operations will be based on the first floor, while the ground floor will operate as Macbrook Workspace, a flexible business hub designed for startups, freelancers, remote workers and growing companies.

Spanning 5,000 sq ft, Macbrook Workspace will offer 42 desk spaces, a dedicated meeting room and a range of flexible options aimed at businesses looking for professional facilities without the cost and commitment of a traditional office lease.

Workspace memberships will be available for just £6 per day, allowing users to access professional working facilities on an as-needed basis rather than being tied into long-term contracts. The facility will also be supported by a dedicated app, enabling users to book meeting rooms and manage their workspace requirements quickly and easily.

In addition to desk space, Macbrook Workspace will offer a virtual office service, giving businesses access to a professional business address and associated support services without the need for a permanent physical office.

The concept has been developed in response to growing demand for flexible workplace solutions as more businesses, entrepreneurs and freelancers move away from traditional office models in favour of agile and cost-effective alternatives.

Macbrook Group operates across the gas and heating sector through Macbrook Gas, serving commercial and residential customers throughout the UK. The Group also has a growing presence in the renewables sector, supporting customers with low-carbon and energy-efficient technologies, and has interests in utilities, renewables, property investment and property development.

Johnathan McKenna, chief executive of Macbrook Group, said: “We're delighted to be approaching the completion of what is a major investment for the Group and an important milestone in our development.

“With a build cost of approximately £1.3 million and a completed valuation of around £2.5 million, the project represents a significant investment in both the future of the business and the wider regional economy.

“This building brings together everything that Macbrook has become over recent years. It provides a permanent home for our growing team, while also creating a space where other businesses can establish themselves, collaborate and grow.

“The headquarters also reflects the increasing importance of renewables within the Group as we continue to expand our sustainable and low-carbon energy offering.

“We've worked hard to create a modern headquarters that reflects our ambitions for the future, and we're equally excited about launching Macbrook Workspace and welcoming the first businesses through the doors.

“September will mark the beginning of a new chapter for the Group. It's incredibly rewarding to see the project so close to completion and we look forward to seeing the building become a thriving base both for Macbrook and for the wider business community.”
